School Maker Faire...it's back!

The Learning Center Charter School hosted its first School Maker Faire on March 10, 2016. This year's SMF is scheduled for March 10, 2022, from 3:30-6:30. (Please see www.naturallygrownkids.org/blog for more details.) Our last in-person SMF was March 2020. The school did hold a virtual faire in 2021.

As an E-STEAM (Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Agriculture, and Math) School, The Learning Center emphasizes learning through doing. Providing opportunities for participation in the Maker Faire Movement is the perfect way to engage and excite students about the world around them. Our ultimate goal is to help students make innovative, positive change in our world. The School Maker Faire provides the opportunity to celebrate making and its potential for positive innovation.

Thomas A. Edison, inventor of the light bulb, once said. "To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk."

If you like to tinker, create, invent or make things with your hands, please know it's not too late to start working with that pile of junk.

Hope to see you next Thursday, March 10, 2022, 3:30-6:30. The Learning Center, 945 Conaheeta Street Campus, Murphy, NC 28906.
