Every January, from the year 2001 through 2020, the school moved into the Sweetheart Ball preparation mode. All around "sweethearts" were selected from each grade by their peers. PE class gave over to crash dance courses. The princess/prince closet came out of storage. The Court practiced. The Dining Commons, eventually the gymnatorium space was transformed into sometimes exotic, but always over-the-top venues to dance the night away. Magic always happened as evidenced in the perfection captured in the above picture above.
COVID has hit the pause button for this annual event. In the meantime, several have asked, "What was the first 2001 Sweetheart Ball like? Where was it held since there was no large space?
